One of the highlights of being a wedding photographer is getting to travel to places to photograph love. Recently, my travels took me to Southern California to document several amazing weddings. Admittedly, Alisha and Dan’s Saddlerock Ranch wedding in Malibu topped my list of faves. Their wedding day had a little bit of everything I love. First and foremost, the setting for their outdoor ceremony and reception was stunning. For instance, Saddlerock Ranch is nestled in a canyon. Magnificent rock formations and vineyards make for a gorgeous view. Secondly, their chuppah was draped in blush roses and an abundance of greenery. Beautiful floral installations make my heart happy. Finally, an outdoor reception with wonderful toasts and great music topped the night off.
Besides the gorgeous aesthetics, there were sweet details sprinkled throughout the day. A dear friend performed the song for their first dance. Without a doubt, I’m a huge fan of golden hour. Alisha and Dan dancing in that soft light was especially beautiful. As a special treat, Alisha and Dan (who are especially talented musicians) wrote songs that were inspired by their love for one another. Each guest received a CD with these songs. I was completely enthralled with the 80’s cover band that performed the evening festivities. They kept everyone on their feet well after the sun went down. On a personal note I totally appreciated that as fellow vegetarians they opted to have their entire menu be meat free. It was a special treat!
In short, I have to give a big thank you to my friend Jenna for letting me tag along and shoot beside her. This one was a blast!
