Wedding

One of my goals is to collaborate on more beautiful and inspiring shoots. Despite living in Seattle for 6 years I had never been to the snow. That changed a couple of weeks ago when I got to work with my fave planner and florist Leigh & Mitchell. We collaborated on this stunning Snoqualmie Pass elopement. I was also excited for the chance to work with Clara from Euni + Co. She is incredible and I love the look of the invitation suite. It’s a modern and elegant design and the mountain sketch is one of my favorite details.

Sometimes things don’t always go as planned. A few days before the shoot the original couple we were going to work with had to cancel. Fortunately for us, they recommended their amazing friends who had just celebrated their one year wedding anniversary. On the day of the shoot we all arrived at the location to find that there wasn’t any snow on the ground. Luckily there was plenty of beautiful snow just several miles east at Gold Creek Pond. We found the perfect little spot nestled up against the trees and started to shoot. People snow shoeing and cross country skiers passing by were delighted.

The concept for this shoot was pretty simple. We wanted to welcome spring, while still clinging to the last days of winter. Warm, bright colors in the floral arrangements and a simple ceremony setup were also important. We weren’t sure how far we would have to hike in the snow, so having a limited number of things to carry was key. A small rug that incorporated our color theme and a floral installation were all we wanted for the ceremony spot. To top it off, we had the most beautiful weather and light and the loveliest couple. Cristina wore her wedding dress and a lovely faux fur wrap. It added color and texture and was a great winter accessory. This Snoqualmie Pass elopement has me so excited for other projects this year.
