Boudoir

When Melissa with Flora Nikrooz reached out to me about photographing some of their lingerie pieces I was over the moon. Their lingerie is classy and gorgeous. I knew that I had to shoot this natural light boudoir series on film. I’ve been shooting with mostly color film lately, but my love for black and white film goes all the way back to the beginning when I first fell in love with photography. I had so much fun getting to use it for this shoot. There’s just something about grainy black and white images that will always have my heart.

Over the course of a couple of hours I got to photograph three lovely ladies. Their willingness to just let go in front of the camera was so inspiring and I’m excited to share more from this natural light boudoir series over the upcoming weeks. We chose a soft color palette for a romantic look and lots of lace. Carlee with the Rusted Vase Floral Co. created lovely white and green bouquets. Kendra, the gorgeous lady you see here, is a phenomenal makeup artist. She did the makeup for all the ladies photographed in this series.

I am really loving shooting boudoir and I’m excited to be incorporating it more into my workflow this year. A huge thank you to the ladies that worked with me on this shoot. You made my job so easy!
