Discovery Park Engagement, Seattle | I + M

Lifestyle

This Magnolia engagement session is an extra special one. I’ve known Marcus since he was 11 years old. Back when he used to be a Cub Scout and needed help with homework. We still love to joke about all the pranks he played when I was his nanny. A minute ago he was just a little fourth grader and now he’s all grown up and getting married and I’m just over here wondering how time moves so quickly?! And I’m also feeling very, very old.

Izzy and Marcus are high school sweethearts. They celebrated 9 years together this past spring and now they are planning the rest of their lives together. Their engagement session made my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much. I just loved getting to document this incredible milestone for them. I was a little nervous about all of the smoke in Seattle, but it actually turned out beautifully. It looked like a foggy autumn afternoon. Which also had me feeling a little excited that fall is right around the corner. Anyone else?

We started up on the bluff with views of Puget Sound and headed down to the rocky shore right before sunset. Neutral tones and softer shades are definitely my color preference, but Izzy’s red floral dress was the perfect pop of color and her adorable black hat was the perfect accessory. Discovery Park is my go-to Seattle destination for engagement shoots because I love the variety that this 534 acre park has to offer. It never disappoints and the views are always beautiful. Marcus and Izzy will be tying the knot next July at Roche Harbor Resort and I cannot wait! Izzy and Marcus, thank you for allowing me to capture your lovely Magnolia engagement session.
