This year’s season kicked off with Ross and Sarah’s Presidio Social Club wedding. I could not have worked with a lovelier couple. From our initial phone call it was clear that Sarah and Ross wanted to host a celebration that was classic and dressy, but not excessively elaborate in aesthetic. They wanted their wedding to feel like a great dinner party; with the emphasis being on their ceremony and reception, celebrating with the people they hold near to their hearts. Their wedding at the Presidio Social Club is definitely one of my all-time favorites. I think back to this day in April with such fondness.
First Look
From beginning to end, Sarah and Ross truly lived in the moment. Their day unfolded with such ease. They opted to get ready in the same suite at the lovely Inn at the Presidio. Their parents and close friends sat together in conversation in the suite, while Sarah and Ross prepped for their day. What tends to be a very chaotic part of a wedding day, unfolded very calmly for Sarah and Ross. After snapping a few family photos, the three of us found a lovely spot outside of the Funston House for couples portraits before heading over to the Presidio Social Club for their ceremony and reception.
Bridal Bouquet
Loop Flowers, based in the Sunset District in San Francisco, arranged a stunning wedding bouquet for Sarah, that tied in perfectly with her look, and the simple arrangements and bright pops of color were the perfect compliment to their indoor reception.
Pro tip: Out of all the flowers for your wedding day, prioritize your bridal bouquet. The bride’s bouquet is a major focal point for me when it comes to your photography. Therefore, I highly recommend getting your dream bouquet and spending less on the bridesmaids’ bouquets since they will not be photographed nearly as much.
Reception
The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming on a cool April evening in San Francisco. Guests enjoyed libations and a lovely meal before making their way back outside for a night of dancing.
Couple Portraits
During golden hour, I snuck Sarah and Ross outside where they took some time to practice their first dance. You just can’t beat that California light.
