Retro Palm Springs Elopement

Wedding

Located in the Sonoran Desert, surrounded by Coachella Valley, lies a little bit of paradise. Palm Springs is a destination people travel from all over the world to enjoy. This city is known for its hot springs, luxury hotels, golf courses and spas. The surrounding Coachella Valley offers hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. Tourists also enjoy it for its midcentury-modern architecture, vintage boutiques and restaurants. This Southern California destination hotspot is also adored by adventurous couples who want a fun retro Palm Springs elopement.

Why You Should Elope in Palm Springs

If you’re considering eloping and you want to make it an incredible experience, then I highly recommend Palm Springs. This city is easy to get to and once you’re here, there’s so much to do and see. Whether you’re wanting a full-scale destination wedding or an intimate destination elopement, Palm Springs has a bit of everything for everyone. You can have an outdoor adventure, while also enjoying amazing food and a fun night out on the town.

Best Time of Year for a Retro Palm Springs Elopement

If you’re just beginning to plan for a Palm Springs elopement, there are several things you’ll want to consider. For one, this city gets hot during certain times of the year, so you’ll want to plan carefully to avoid those rising desert temperatures. Fall brings cooler temperatures and fewer tourists, compared to winter and spring. Palm Springs attracts tourists all year long, so keep crowds in mind during your planning process. Music festivals, like Coachella, start up in the spring so expect it to be busy.

Best Places to Elope Near Palm Springs

  • Joshua Tree National Park tops my list of best places to elope near Palm Springs. Joshua Tree is close to an hour away from Palm Springs, making it an easy day trip from the city. Its iconic rock formations, multitude of cacti and shrubs, and its vast desert landscape are a photographer’s dream to capture.
  • Imperial Sand Dunes are the largest mass of sand dunes in the state of California. It’s about a two-hour trek from Palm Springs, but totally worth the drive. The scenery is breathtaking and certain areas even allow for horseback riding.
  • San Gorgonio Pass Wind Farm is one of the most iconic spots in Palm Springs. With rows upon rows of windmills, it’s beautiful during sunset and should be included on your list of location must-haves.
