Legion of Honor Bridal Editorial, San Francisco

Wedding

I’ve always loved The Legion of Honor in San Francisco. The light-filled space and incredible architecture made it the ideal location for this stunning editorial bridal session. When I first started planning this shoot I wanted it to be soft and romantic but to include minimal details. There is something about simplicity that I am finding so much joy in photographing right now. Slowing down and really paying attention to how I wanted to compose each shot was my top priority and it turned out so lovely on film.

I knew from the very beginning that I wanted the bouquet to be a standout feature; rich in color, texture and size. I was thrilled to work with Susie from The Blooming Vase. She designed the most exquisite bouquet. Set against the backdrop of the Legion’s stone courtyard only accentuated its beauty. Rachel from the Bright Line Studio created a gorgeous watercolor stationary suite. It picked up on those rich colors and added a touch of gold. Her drawing of The Legion of Honor was a beautiful bonus to the overall design.

In the hour that we spent at the Legion of Honor, we never strayed from one spot. It really helped with not only keeping things simple, but it was also relaxing being able to settle into one spot. It felt really refreshing to not be running from one location to the next. It’s definitely something I’ll try to be mindful of doing during future sessions.
