FINE ART WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Specializing in Romantic, Natural Light Imagery in Napa Valley

Communicating and investing time with my couples is so important to me. I will provide you with a Wedding Day Guide to assist with the planning and preparation of your engagement session and wedding day from a photography standpoint. In the weeks leading up to your wedding, we will work together to create a wedding day timeline to ensure I have plenty of time to capture your important wedding day moments. My focus throughout the day is to capture organic emotions, the connections between people, and your pretty details.

I am skilled at capturing the unique moments on a wedding day by taking an artistic photojournalism approach. My fine art wedding photography emulates the look of film, with true to life color and soft grain.

why Napa Valley?

As a wedding photographer I am drawn to romance, couples who value photography and beautiful outdoor spaces.

I love it when couples throw tradition to the wind and have the type of wedding that speaks true to their souls. They are passionate for one another and find joy and tenderness in the quiet moments spent together. They want the story of their wedding to unfold naturally and authentically. I will always be drawn to capturing raw, heartfelt and tender moments that occur spontaneously. I love to travel and will go anywhere to document a beautiful love story.

NAPA VALLEY WEDDINGS

Here's a selection of some of my favorite weddings that I've photographed in Napa Valley.

5 Photography Tips for Your Napa Valley Wedding

  1. Consider the seasons. While summer is prime wedding season, every season in Napa Valley is beautiful. Summer temperatures can be sweltering, so if you prefer milder temperatures, a spring or fall wedding can be just as special. The autumnal colors in the vineyards are my favorite. Evenings can be on the cooler side, so opt for plenty of space heaters, or cozy blankets to keep guests warm into the evening hours.
  2. If you are drawn to light and airy photos, be sure to tour venues that allow for outdoor ceremonies and receptions before deciding on your favorite location. Part of the charm of Napa Valley weddings is getting to spend as much time as possible outdoors. While some venues allow outdoor ceremonies, receptions must take place inside the venue's barrel room, which requires flash photography and is moodier compared to outdoor receptions in natural light. Opting for a complete outdoor wedding means your guests will be treated to breathtaking views of Napa Valley throughout the day.
  3. Make sure to inquire whether your Napa Valley venue has designated getting ready spaces for both parties. The convenience of being able to get ready and have all your photos taken at the venue prior to the ceremony (first look, wedding party, family photos) is paramount to creating a stress-free day. It means less time having to transport your wedding party and family to different locations and more time for photography coverage. If you're less the traditional type of couple, consider getting ready together. It's a lot of fun, and it makes taking photos of the two of you getting ready super easy!
  4. Once you have your venue secured, I find it helpful to do a walk-through with my couples to discuss potential ceremony start times and locations based on the lighting. Pro tip: If the sun is shining harshly on either of your faces, stand side by side during your ceremony with the sun behind you, rather than across from one another. This way you'll have soft, even lighting on both of your faces.
  5. Golden hour is the final hour of daylight before sunset when the sun is low in the sky and the light is a beautiful golden tone. This time of day offers ideal lighting for creating breathtaking portraits. I always recommend we snap some additional couples portraits during this time.
