Nathalie and Johannes’ Port Ludlow Resort wedding was perfect in every way. The connection between these two was strong and moving to witness. I found myself tearing up more than once throughout the day. The love they share extends not only to each other but also to everyone who came to celebrate with them on Washington’s beautiful Olympic Peninsula.
There is a tenderness between Nathalie and Johannes that is hard to fully put into words. More than anything, I felt truly honored to be part of their wedding day. Photographing such a heartfelt celebration at Port Ludlow Resort, one of the most peaceful waterfront wedding venues in Washington, was unforgettable.
Set along the Hood Canal, Port Ludlow Resort is a hidden gem on the Olympic Peninsula. With its sweeping water views, forest-lined paths, and quiet tranquility, it is an ideal location for an intimate Washington waterfront wedding. It is also perfect for a relaxed PNW destination wedding.
First Look & Portraits at Port Ludlow Resort | Washington Wedding Photographer
Photography was incredibly important to Nathalie and Johannes. Therefore, we carved out quiet time together before the ceremony. Their first look was emotional and full of joy. It was a beautiful reminder of how meaningful slow, intentional moments can be on a wedding day.
Next, we wandered around the property and created couples portraits throughout the Port Ludlow Resort grounds. From the peaceful waterfront along the Hood Canal to the lush greenery and soft coastal light, the venue offered a stunning variety of backdrops. The calm pace of the day and the natural beauty of the surroundings made the images feel intimate and honest. Each moment felt deeply connected.
Meaningful Wedding Details & Personal Touches
One of the most meaningful elements of Nathalie and Johannes’ Port Ludlow wedding was the florals. Most of the flowers came directly from Nathalie’s father’s garden. She arranged them herself, including her bouquet. This personal touch added sentiment and intention that could be felt throughout the day.
These details make a wedding unforgettable. Even now, I often think back on them. They perfectly reflected the care and love poured into every part of the celebration.

Surrounded by nature and their closest loved ones, the ceremony reflected everything they are together. It was simple, intentional, and deeply connected. Port Ludlow Resort truly shines as an Olympic Peninsula wedding venue. Its peaceful atmosphere allows moments like these to unfold naturally.
Cozy Spring Reception at Port Ludlow Resort in Washington
After the ceremony, guests gathered for cocktails and lawn games in the garden. They enjoyed the mild spring weather and the relaxed pace of the afternoon. Later, everyone moved indoors for a cozy, candlelit dinner celebration.
The reception space was filled with soft, natural light. This made the evening feel warm and inviting. Heartfelt toasts had everyone laughing and tearing up. It was impossible not to feel how genuinely loved Nathalie and Johannes are. Throughout the night, they stayed close, savoring every moment together. This is a true reflection of what a Port Ludlow Resort wedding celebration can be.
