Blush and Gold Wedding at the Admiral’s House

Wedding

I have a deep love for garden weddings. They are intimate and charming and tend to create such a lovely and laid back vibe to the day. I feel a bit nostalgic when I’m photographing a garden wedding because Carl and I were married in one. Seattle brides, if you have been dreaming of a garden wedding then look no further than The Admiral’s House. This historic property is in one of Seattle’s loveliest neighborhoods. The property is beautiful and the house itself will make all of your friends and family feel at home. Your guests will also be treated to an outdoor reception with spectacular views of Seattle’s skyline and Mount Rainier.

I love the Admiral’s House not only for the outdoor space, but also the charming house on the property. The natural light throughout the house makes it the ideal location for getting ready photos, which is something I recommend all of my couples pay close attention to when they are deciding on a getting ready location. As a natural light photographer, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of having an abundance of natural light during this part of your day. The Admiral’s House is also just a quick drive from some of my favorite local spots for portraits.

Dreamy Couple Portraits

Discovery Park is a quick drive from the Admiral’s House and was a great location for portraits of the bride and groom and wedding party. If you’re considering using this as another location for portraits, be sure buffer enough time in your timeline for travel to and from the park.

Wedding Party

I do get a few photos of everyone looking at the camera, but my couples love the natural ones the most. This is where everyones personalities really shine! Isn’t this color palette gorgeous? This bride chose a gorgeous blush and ivory palette for this dreamy Seattle wedding. I loved photographing this so much!

Pro tip: If you’d like dreamy light like this in your wedding photos, timing this for after 3pm is best.

Wedding Day Details

I know my couples spend so much time choosing a wedding venue and putting together all the little details that will create a memorable event for their guests, so I love capturing a few photos of things like venue exterior and reception table details.

Cocktail Hour Photos

I love capturing candid photos of wedding guests during cocktail hour. It’s a great time of the wedding day for natural reactions and seeing the personalities of your friends and family.

Receptions

When it comes to summers in Seattle, outdoor receptions are a must. Long days and warm nights go perfectly with heartwarming toasts and dancing under twinkling lights. And there isn’t a better way to end the night than with donuts. Thank you Jenna Bechtholt for having me along to assist with this gorgeous summer wedding.
