One of my goals this year was to travel more often. I wanted to capture love stories in inspiring new places. This winter chic Joshua Tree elopement was the perfect way to begin that journey. Joshua Tree had been on my bucket list for years. Getting to photograph an editorial elopement there was a dream come true. The unique desert landscape, dramatic rock formations, and warm evening light create an unforgettable setting. Eva and Isaac brought style, energy, and deep connection. This made it one of my favorite elopements to photograph.

Winter Joshua Tree Elopement Florals and Portraits
Tame Florals, a sister-owned floral studio, created floral arrangements that perfectly matched the tones of the desert. Their use of textured elements and soft, earthy colors brought a whimsical and elegant feel to the ceremony space. The floral arch was positioned in front of the rocks, framing the couple beautifully and blending into the natural landscape.
The florals added just the right amount of visual interest without taking away from the simplicity and serenity of the desert surroundings. It felt intentional and effortless, which is exactly what you want for a Joshua Tree elopement.

Intimate Portraits with a Natural and Editorial Feel
Before golden hour, we had the opportunity to work with more direct sunlight. Typically, as a natural light wedding photographer, I look for soft, even light. However, this unique setting encouraged me to play with different types of light and shadows. As a result, we created images that felt bold and editorial.
Meanwhile, Eva and Isaac were completely at ease in front of the camera. Because of their strong connection, it came through in every frame. Their confidence also allowed us to experiment freely and capture something a little different from the typical elopement portraits.

Golden Hour in the Joshua Tree Desert
As the sun began to set, the landscape was bathed in the most incredible golden light. This is my favorite time to photograph couples. The warm glow created a dreamy, romantic atmosphere that made every moment feel even more special.
Golden hour in Joshua Tree is truly magical. The soft light reflects off the sand and rocks, wrapping everything in a warm tone that is both ethereal and intimate. It is always worth planning elopement portraits around this time of day if you’re eloping in the desert.
