The Edgewater House Wedding, Washington | H + D

Wedding

This summer’s highlight was getting to photograph Heather and Derek’s Edgewater House wedding in Olalla, Washington. Summers in the Pacific Northwest are simply the best. First, the days are long. Second, the weather is great. And third, there are so many places to explore. Since moving back to the Bay Area last fall I have missed living in Seattle so much. It was exciting to get the chance to return this summer for a little work/mini vacation. I loved being back in the city we called home for six years. Seattle will always have a piece of our hearts. I feel incredibly grateful to photograph people in love coupled with being able to go back and forth between California and Washington to document beautiful love stories. Today I’m sharing a particularly beautiful love story.

The Edgewater House is a beachfront property just north of Gig Harbor, which is adjacent to the shores of Colvos Passage. This secluded property boasts an elegant garden and gorgeous views of Puget Sound. The Edgewater House is a full-service venue and even offers couples the option to arrive by seaplane, helicopter and boat. One of the things I love most about this venue is that couples can have an outdoor ceremony and reception. Many of Heather and Derek’s guests traveled from Michigan and other parts of the country. They were treated to a day where the Pacific Northwest really showed off. After spending nearly a year apart while planning a wedding and traveling back and forth between Michigan and Washington, Heather and Derek were finally able to celebrate with their loved ones. It was a day filled with romance, good times, and love.
